Atty. Guiling A. Mamondiong, the Secretary/ Director General of the Technical Educational and Schools Development Authority (TESDA) was the honored guest during the Launching of the Yolanda Rehabilitation and Recovery Program (YRRP) on Sunday, September 3, at the PNU-V, Cadiz City.
Atty. Mamondiong, who was accompanied by Vice Mayor Lilia Decolongon, stressed that the TESDA has already started free training under the “Yolanda Recovery and Rehabilitation Program” for the residents affected by typhoon Yolanda.
TESDA Provincial Director Joel M. Villagracia said that it is not only the beneficiaries under the National Housing Authority (NHA) “Pabahay Program” that will enjoy the free training program but also beneficiaries from different cities and municipalities who were affected by “Super Typhoon Yolanda” in northern part of the province.
The director disclosed that for this program, the province of Negros Occidental is allotted P93M for about 12,040 selected beneficiaries whose ages are from 15 years old- up.
TESDA clarified that those who are willing to benefit this program must be listed in the Barangay Skills Need Mapping Survey that is underway. Interested applicants can also visit the nearest TESDA Office which is located in Talisay City.
The TESDA Director added that the slots are already filled-up for the selected beneficiaries who are from Typhoon Yolanda affected areas.
The benefits that will be availed of are: free tuition fee for Technical and Entrepreneurship, free Assessment fee; Training Support fund and Training tool kits.
The said free training on their choice course had already started in July 31 and will end on December 31
