The Aboitiz Group, through the Aboitiz Foundation and its Typhoon Tino Relief Efforts, turned over 50 sacks of rice to the City of Cadiz as part of their continued commitment to support affected communities.
The turnover ceremony was held today, November 7, 2025, at the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO). The donation was personally handed over by Ms. Agnes Rodriguez, Manager for Stakeholder Relations and Permitting, and Mr. Krister Dave Escala, External Relations Supervisor for Negros Grid, from Aboitiz.
The city’s heartfelt gratitude was expressed by City Mayor Hon. Salvador Escalante, Jr., together with City Administrator Atty. Michael Angelo Borromeo, OIC-CSWDO Ms. Irene Javelona, RSW, OIC-CDRRMO Mr. Richard Amante, and City Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Officer Ms. Lyn Regodos.

In celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Month and the 28th Commemoration of the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA), the Indigenous People’s Welfare Advocacy Group (IWAG) Cadiz City, in collaboration with CSWDO and LYDC, held a community outreach and cultural engagement at Sitio Manara, Barangay Celestino Villacin on October 29, 2025.
The event featured activities that celebrated the rich culture and resilience of the Ata community from The Learning Carousel: Five Stops, One Goal promoting literacy and numeracy, to Tilaw Tilaw: Lasa kag Kultura showcasing indigenous cuisine, and Bongga Ka Nay! uplifting local pride through talent and culture.

The City of Cadiz, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), joyfully launched the 33rd National Children’s Month Celebration today, November 6, 2025, at Balay Cadiznon with the theme “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban.”
City Mayor Hon. Salvador Escalante, Jr. graced the event and shared an inspiring message highlighting the city’s continued efforts to protect and promote children’s rights. City Vice Mayor Hon. John Vincent Escalante and City Councilor Hon. Frances Guanzon also expressed their commitment to champion child welfare programs, while OIC-CSWDO Ms. Irene Javelona, RSW delivered the welcome remarks emphasizing unity in safeguarding every Cadiznon child.
The celebration was filled with fun and learning through special performances from various Barangay Child Development Centers, a Magic Show that brought smiles to young faces, and a lively Unity Zumba Dance that encouraged health and togetherness.
Cadiz City remains steadfast in building a community where every child grows safe, loved, and empowered.
